Women In Business

As the sole proprietor of Babar Too Co. I know what it's like to be a women in business, all by yourself. The stereotypes often prove true and the economic times don't make things any easier. 

Recently I've read a great book by Julie V. Watson called 'How Women Make Money' and I've put together some highlights of what she says coupled with my own thoughts to help all you amazing women out there who are fed up with working for someone else's agenda and want to kick start their own! I believe we should work together, competition or not. People often look at me funny when I share my suppliers etc but if no one helps others, what is there to gain? 

I encourage you more than absolutely anything, to be persistent. Failure only becomes reality when one gives up. Otherwise, make lots of mistakes on the way to your success and learn from them! Simple Beneficial Facts

A reduction in diabetes risk of 22% was found with high intakes of beta carotene a recent Dutch study tells us based on a study of almost 40,000 adults. So increase those orange and yellow fruits and green leafy veggies!
People that followed a Mediterranean diet were more than 50% less likely to develop Alzheimer's. The diet limits fried and fast foods and red meat and amps up on green leafy veg, nuts, berries and beans, fish and whole grains. 
184,000 is the amount of adult deaths worldwide each year directly contributed to drinking soda in excess. 

What are we doing to our Food!?!

Did you know many people that suffer from 'gluten issues' here in North America can eat all kinds of gluten products in Europe and not experience any of the nasty side effects they're accustomed to here?

It's all to do with how we've manipulated our food through genetically modifying, spraying and engineering what we eat.

Where has summer gone!

These chilly nights and all the pumpkins white & orange at the markets means that summer is yup you guessed it, pretty much over. There's this natural sense of mild loss in each one of us in that our hot days, our bbqing, our swimming and boating is well over, mine as well make room for hot chocolate & apple cider. mmm. Apple crisp, Thanksgiving, pumpkin, autumn walks are rolling in!
