Canadian Maple Syrup

Once a year maple syrup comes around by way of  tapping sap that turns into a sweet sweet gold coloured liquid. Sap starts running from black and red maple trees from late winter through early spring, for about 4 to 6 weeks with usually 3 good weeks, preferring  warm days around 5 degrees above and cool nights around -5. By way of process, when the sap is boiled down it creates delicious maple syrup. Check out some modern ways to make syrup. It takes 40 litres of sap to make 1 litre of syrup!
