Reading Ingredients on Cosmetic Labels

So what does Fragrance really mean? It usually means synthetic 'parfum', as companies don't need to list what actually goes in to making the parfum they use in a product. Here at Babar, fragrance means herbs and essential oil scents!

Unscented can mean scents have been masked with equally toxic 'parfum'. Here at Babar Too Co, when we say unscented, it means just that. There are no added anything to our products to mask anything at all!

The word hypoallergenic is also a bit deceiving. Seeing as it is not a scientific or legal term, it is used pretty loosely. When we at Babar use the term we mean it should not cause irritation on any skin type, that it is gentle and made with simple ingredients.

Sometimes long words hard to pronounce are actually some of the best stuff in there when requirements call for ingredients to be listed under their scientific names, for example aloe vera would be aloe vulgaris, and so forth.
