Cancer & the Role of Nature's Medicine During Treatments

It's a scary stat that over 40% of Canadians may be faced with getting some form of cancer. It'd perhaps be too easy to breakdown just why this epidemic may exist taking into account our diets and lives of convenience and sheer lack of knowledge about health and how our bodies work. At the end of the day, we all want the best quality of life.

Treatments can wreck havoc on the healthiest of humans, chemotherapy, surgeries, radiation, immune and hormonal agents. Encouragement is there to research and understand more of what nature has for us in these trying times.

Mistletoe (injections)- usually used with conventional treatments can greatly help fatigue and other treatment symptoms including immunity.

Vitamin C (intravenously) - a pro-oxident that can battle cancel cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed.

Cannabis
Vitamin D
Astragalus
Probiotics
Melatonin
Restorative Yoga
Medicinal Mushrooms

Of course depending on where your battle begins, whether optimum health to stave off cancer all …

Reading Ingredients on Cosmetic Labels

So what does Fragrance really mean? It usually means synthetic 'parfum', as companies don't need to list what actually goes in to making the parfum they use in a product. Here at Babar, fragrance means herbs and essential oil scents!

Unscented can mean scents have been masked with equally toxic 'parfum'. Here at Babar Too Co, when we say unscented, it means just that. There are no added anything to our products to mask anything at all!

The word hypoallergenic is also a bit deceiving. Seeing as it is not a scientific or legal term, it is used pretty loosely. When we at Babar use the term we mean it should not cause irritation on any skin type, that it is gentle and made with simple ingredients.

Sometimes long words hard to pronounce are actually some of the best stuff in there when requirements call for ingredients to be listed under their scientific names, for example aloe vera would be aloe vulgaris, and so forth.

Trying to Avoid GMOs

In Canada GM crops include alfalfa, beet, canola, corn & soy. If you try and avoid processed foods including sweeteners, corn flakes, corn syrup, canola oil and white sugar you're already doing a great job limiting your intake.
Canada imports squash, papaya & vegetable oils which are often GM.
Buying organic takes out the risk, as genetic modification is prohibited for all organic products. By purchasing organic meats you are ensuring you are not eating what the farm animals have (usually GM corn, soy and canola).
Buy cane sugar or organic sugars and corn (ask your farmer what kinds of seeds they plant :)

What does Organic Really Mean?

Balance in Nature! As human beings, we are directly connected to the environment and with our choices we impact our own surroundings. Every time we eat, we have choices. Make it count and preserve our planet!
Choosing organic (which is always non GMO, hormone, pesticide and antibiotic free) it's pretty much guaranteed you're also going to consume alot more nutrients than non organic foods. This leads to improvements of all types for our bodies including cognitive development and in vitro development!
It also means ethical treatment of animals and food systems that can develop locally so that food produced locally is also consumed locally. What a concept!
Think about it " Every time you purchase confinement-factory farm meats from a conventional grocery store, you are voting for that system to continue. If you don't believe in that system, don't vote for it" - Tim Hoven, Eckville, Alberta

Does Food Affect Our Mood?

Darn right it does! All those nutrients in healthy food have a huge impact on your brain function and therefore your mood. Think as your body as one big machine, if all the parts are working properly by obtaining the right fuel, all systems should be good to go!
95% of serotonin is created in our gut and so is GABA. The bacteria in our gut is called our microbiome, a diverse ecosystem, and it makes up approximately 1 kg of weight in the average adult. This bacteria protects our intestinal lining, aids in digestion and the absorption of the nutrients found in what we eat, and even aids the manufacturing of neurotransmitters creating a link between our gut and our brain.
When we eat nutrient rich whole foods we are enabling our bodies to function as they were designed.  Probiotics, prebiotics and fermented foods all aid our gut bacteria. Fibre rich foods help the bacteria in our colon.
So bring on the whole foods (foods that have not been altered) and create a great ecosytem within you!…
