Essential Fatty Acid Basics

We often hear how good EFA's are for us (omega 3, 6, and 9's). The body is able to synthesize the majority of the fats it needs from the diet but these two essential fatty acids, linolenic and linoleic acid, cannot be synthesized in the body so must be obtained from what we eat. These are basic fats, found in plant foods, that are used to build specialized fats called omega-3 omega-6 and omega-9  fatty acids, important in the normal functioning of all tissues of the body. Plant foods are the best source!
Having a deficiency of these fatty acids can lead to a host of symptoms, problems, and disorders including depression, liver and kidney abnormalities, reduced growth rates, dry skin and decreased immune function.
The benefits of EFA's include relief with menstrual pain, joint pain, ulcers. It helps prevent atherosclerosis and reduce heart disease and stroke.
Omega-3 fatty acid levels have also been associated with decreased breast cancer risk. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory.
Get your essential fatty acids from leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds and nuts. Walnuts, flaxseeds and wheat germ are also excellent sources! Let's try for optimal health!

Of those neglected from their peers, sometimes, often, us. What makes someone inferior? How could we possibly think such things right, but wait, how else do we explain what the heck is going on.

Look to the person in your room right now. Is there anything you wouldn't do for them? You want them to like you and you quite like them I'm almost sure. If not well, this doesn't hurt as the theory is the same. Love trumps all- or at least it should and that's what we're going to talk about.

Unless we serve others, there will be a continual gap in our lives, in our thankfulness and quite frankly in our joy. And trust me I'm no preacher, just someone who forgot what it was like to truly serve, and in return learned how it felt to be ultimately, selfish.
