As taken from IDS @ Trent University's Professor Haroon Akram-Lodhi:

Cellular telephony in Canada is an oligopoly, Bell, Telus and Rogers control 94% of the market, charging high prices for poor service. In the 2000's the late Ted Rogers was the 2nd richest man in Canada worth almost 8 billion dollars. Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsille had a combined wealth of almost 9 billion.
The worst war of the 2nd half of the 20th century (in the Congo) has been fought in part over the coltan (ingredient found in every single cell phone). Our ignorance has contributed to death and deprivation on a biblical scale. We need to understand our world.
